How to Use the Right Battery for Your Zenit TTL Camera

Understanding the Mallory PX-13 and PX-625 Batteries

The Zenit TTL camera is designed to use either a Mallory PX-13 or PX-625 battery. These batteries are both 1.3-volt mercury batteries that are commonly used in cameras and other electronic devices. The PX-13 battery is smaller than the PX-625 battery, so it is important to use the correct size battery in your camera.

Inserting the Battery

To insert the battery into your Zenit TTL camera, follow these steps:

  1. Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the camera.
  2. Insert the battery into the compartment, making sure that the positive terminal is facing up.
  3. Close the battery compartment.

Checking the Battery

To check the battery, you can use a small coin. Place the coin in the battery compartment and turn it clockwise until the battery is secure. If the battery is fitted correctly, the coin will not move.

Safety Precautions

When handling batteries, it is important to follow these safety precautions:

  • Do not mix different types of batteries.
  • Do not insert batteries backwards.
  • Do not short-circuit batteries.
  • Dispose of batteries properly.
