Juventus 0-3 Real Madrid: Ronaldo's Overhead-Kick Goal

A Night to Remember in Turin

April 3, 2018

Two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, including a moment of pure brilliance, helped Real Madrid to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Juventus in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday.

The Portuguese superstar opened the scoring in the third minute with a close-range finish before doubling his tally with a stunning overhead kick in the 64th minute. Casemiro added a third in stoppage time to seal the victory for the visitors.

The result leaves Juventus with a mountain to climb in the second leg in Madrid next week. Real Madrid, meanwhile, will be confident of reaching the semi-finals for the eighth consecutive season.

Ronaldo's Overhead Kick

Ronaldo's second goal was undoubtedly the highlight of the match. The Portuguese forward received a cross from Dani Carvajal on the right wing and, with his back to goal, produced an audacious overhead kick that flew into the top corner of the net.

It was a goal of incredible skill and athleticism, and it sent the Bernabeu crowd into raptures. It was also Ronaldo's 15th goal in the Champions League this season, moving him clear of Lionel Messi as the competition's leading scorer.

Juventus Disappointment

Juventus will be disappointed with their performance on Tuesday. The Italian champions were outplayed by Real Madrid for long periods of the match and never really looked like getting back into the game.

Massimiliano Allegri's side will need to produce a much better performance in the second leg if they are to have any chance of overturning the deficit. However, they will be up against a Real Madrid team that is in excellent form and will be confident of finishing the job in Madrid.
